Lotions, Scrubs, & Soaps by Just Jameen

Deborah Jameen Love (Peel) was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  Though educated in Design and Drafting, Deborah decided to open a custom sewing and tailoring business but increasingly found her interest to be in personal care products.  This was based on the need to keep her daughter, Eboni's skin soft and smooth as well as to address the needs of her own special skin type. "I found that many skin care products are        petroleum based and this is just suicide for your skin!"

In 2002, after using and selling nearly every  product available, Deborah began to make her own unique blends.   At Christmas time, all of her family and friends received Just Jameen skin care products.  It wasn't long before regular deliveries were being made in the local area.  Increasingly, friends, co-workers and strangers just had to find out how they could get these nicely scented high quality products. 

The full line of Just Jameen Products are being carried at the wonderfully creative card shop, Simply DeVine Cards and Gifts Shop  located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the Fabulous, Majestic Design Boutique & Salon in Farmington, Michigan as well as the customer oriented Boutique and Salon "Belinda's" in Southfield, Michigan.  The newest addition to the Just Jameen family is Nubian Essence Gift Shop located in downtown Detroit. 

In 2005, Deborah began to seriously research the possibility of growing her business by adding sales consultants.  Friends and associates continued to express an interest in selling her products and by July 2006, the  decision was made to add staff.  To date there are male and female consultants calling on customers in Southeast Michigan, Ohio, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Texas. 

In addition to working hard to satisfy customers, Deborah has a strong sense of community service and has made it her mission to support or be a board member of organizations that benefit children that are deaf or hard of hearing.  To that end, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Just Jameen products have been used to support organizations that service deaf and hard of hearing children. "I believe that a focus on literacy for these children is key so that they may have the same opportunities afforded to hearing children in their lives" .

In 2009, Deborah has set her sites on further growth in Michigan as well as in a number of Western and Southern States and will continue to add Sales Representatives  and staff to support an expanding      operation. 

   "We really appreciate the customers and consultants who have been responsible for our growth and look forward to bringing smiles to the faces of many more".

Tenacity and perseverance, faith in herself and in God, quality products and "honest business dealings" were the elements and strategies she prescribed for aspiring entrepreneurs who requested the secret to her rags-to-riches ascent. "There is no royal flower-strewn path to success," she once commented. "And if there is, I have not found it for if I have accomplished anything in life it is because I have been willing to work hard."

Just Jameen's community involvement goals involve deaf and hard of hearing children and young adults.  As in the past we have coordinated collecting funds to assist families with sending deaf and hard of hearing children to a variety of camps in and out of the Sate.  The Lions Clubs in District 11-A 1 have bee instrumental in making this possible and we are very appreciative of this. 

In addition to being the parent of a deaf  young adult. I am also on the boards of Deaf Options (Redford, MI), Lions of Michigan Hearing Center (Detroit, MI), Detroit Parent Network (Detroit) and Michigan Association for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MADHH)- Lansing. 

My dedication and concern is for improving education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Our goal this year is to raise the funds needed to send children to a variety of camps this year based on their needs and desires for learning as well as support the various organizations that fully include deaf and hard of hearing children in their programs.  We hope you, our customers will assist us with this by making a donation through our website.
